The investigation indicated that the violence may have been triggered by a land dispute. The investigation revealed that out of a total of 34 houses, 21 were completely destroyed and 13 were partially damaged. The investigation also revealed that most of the houses that were set on fire belonged to people from the Dalit tribal community. The case was registered under the Arms Act and the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
