Kakoli Ghosh Claims Support of 20 TMC MPs(20 TMC

Delhi: Mamata Banerjee’s party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), has been rocked by a massive upheaval. The party has suffered a severe split. Previously, around 60 TMC MLAs had formed a separate faction; now, 20 TMC (20 TMC )  MPs have also parted ways with Mamata Banerjee. Reports indicate that these 20 MPs are breaking away to join the NDA. Suvendu Adhikari met with the rebel TMC MPs in Delhi. Meanwhile, MP Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar has emerged as the leader of the rebels. Speaking to the media on Monday, she made several significant claims.

What Did Kakoli Ghosh Say?
Making a major claim on Monday, Kakoli Ghosh stated that 20 Trinamool Congress MPs are with her and are set to break away from the party. She mentioned that these rebel MPs have requested the Lok Sabha Speaker to allow them to sit separately in the House. Her faction has sought official recognition from the Speaker. Kakoli Ghosh claimed that more TMC MPs would join them. It is worth noting that the TMC has 28 MPs in the Lok Sabha; thus, the defection of 20 MPs is considered a massive blow to Mamata Banerjee.

Bengal Has Regressed by 40 Years Under Mamata’s Rule – Kakoli
Kakoli Ghosh announced that she is leaving the TMC and her faction is aligning with the NDA. She stated that she would work with both the central and state governments. She also alleged that numerous scams occurred under the TMC administration. Targeting Mamata Banerjee, Kakoli Ghosh remarked that Bengal has been set back by forty years under her rule. She also stated that Mamata Banerjee did not heed her grievances. Kakoli Ghosh expressed her desire to work for the benefit of both Bengal and the nation.

**The nation comes first for us – Kakoli**
Lok Sabha MP Kakoli Ghosh said, “What happens next remains to be seen. For now, isn’t it enough that we want to work for Bengal and the country, and keep India safe? This is a crucial issue. For us, the nation comes first.”

When asked if Mamata Banerjee had tried to contact her, Kakoli Ghosh replied, “No one from that side attempted to reach out. When I was the District President and the election results were poor, I took personal responsibility. I felt that perhaps I hadn’t done my job properly, so I stepped down from the post. Even after that, no one met me or called me; I was simply sidelined. It felt as though someone had been set upon me to bark at me. I have been with Mamata Banerjee for 40 years. I never imagined I would have to see a day when she would ask someone to hurl abuses at me.”
