Responding to a two-day discussion on the President’s speech to the two houses of Parliament, Modi claimed that the public had witnessed the commitment with which his administration has served them over the previous ten years. “The nation’s citizens have granted us this mandate after putting us to the test in every way. In the midst of loud objections from opposition MPs, Prime Minister Modi stated in the Lok Sabha, “The people have seen our track record of 10 years.” After putting us to the test in every way, the people of this nation have granted us this mandate.  “The people have seen that we have worked with dedication for the welfare of the poor, fulfilling the mantra of ‘public service is God’s service’,” he stated. In ten years, according to Modi, his government was able to lift 25 crore people out of poverty. He said this accomplishment turned out to be a blessing.
