Haridwar, On the occasion of completion of four years of his tenure, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Har Ki Pauri on the holy land of Haridwar and duly worshiped Mother Ganga and wished for the happiness and prosperity of the state. Along with this, while participating in the “River Festival” program, he gave the message of conservation and respect of rivers to the people.
The Chief Minister said that “rivers are not just bodies of water but are the lifeline of our culture, faith and economy.” He called upon the devotees and officials present to respect all rivers like mothers and pledge to keep them clean, pure and pollution free.
The Chief Minister also said that conservation of water resources is extremely important to deal with global challenges like climate change and global warming. He said that it is the responsibility of all of us to give a healthy and prosperous environment to the coming generations.
Ganga Pujan was organized at Brahmakund situated at Har Ki Pauri by Acharya Amit Shastri with full rituals. During this, the Chief Minister prayed to Maa Ganga for the happiness, prosperity of the people of the state and the fulfillment of the wishes of all the devotees.
All the devotees, saints and officials present in the program, along with the Chief Minister, raised their hands and took a pledge to never pollute the rivers. This collective pledge gave a new dimension to public awareness towards environmental protection.
On this special occasion, Shri Ganga Sabha President Nitin Gautam, Chairman Krishna Kumar Sharma, Reception Minister Siddharth Chakrapani and other officials gave a grand welcome to the Chief Minister.
Former Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, Rajya Sabha MP Kalpana Saini, MLA Madan Kaushik, Adesh Chauhan, Vice President State Disaster Management Authority Vinay Ruhela, District Magistrate Mayur Dixit, Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Singh Dobal, SDM Jitendra Kumar, City Magistrate Kusham Chauhan, SP Crime Jitendra Mehra along with a large number of devotees and administrative officers were present in the program.
