Patna: The new NDA government in Bihar led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar (Nitish Kumar) will have to win the trust vote on February 10. A notification issued by the Parliamentary Affairs Department on Tuesday said the government will seek the trust vote after Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar’s traditional address to both the Houses of the Legislature on the first day of the budget session. JDU President Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Bihar for a record ninth time on Sunday after a dramatic upset. He broke ties with the opposition ‘India’ alliance and formed a new government with his old ally BJP, with whom he had severed ties two years ago.
BJP’s no-confidence motion against Chaudhary
This session of Bihar Legislature is expected to be stormy, because amid increasing pressure from NDA, RJD MLA Awadh Bihari Chaudhary has not yet given up the post of Speaker of the Assembly, against whom BJP has brought a no-confidence motion.
The post of Assembly Speaker will remain with BJP!
There is talk that like the previous NDA government, BJP will keep the post of Assembly Speaker with itself. Sources said that the names being considered for this post in BJP also include Nand Kishore Yadav and Amarendra Pratap Singh.
