Imphal. After the violence in Manipur, (Manipur) the security forces have put in full force to improve the situation. After Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Manipur, the security forces have intensified the operation and recovered a large number of arms and ammunition in Manipur. 40 automatic weapons and mortars were recovered. The area domination operation of the security forces is going on continuously in the hilly areas and the valley.
Police and security agencies are active after tension in many areas after Manipur violence. Police weapons were looted during the violence. The Army, Assam Rifles along with the police and paramilitary forces have launched an operation to recover the looted weapons. In this campaign, 40 automatic weapons, mortars, ammunition and other war material have been recovered.
Home Minister had warned
Significantly, curfew was lifted from five districts of Manipur a day after Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently announced a peace-keeping plan for the violence-hit northeastern state. Apart from this, some other areas were also relaxed.
Home Minister Amit Shah had warned them to surrender after the weapons were looted. After this warning, 140 weapons were surrendered in Manipur. A month ago, 2,000 weapons were looted from the police armory after ethnic violence broke out.
