Rajouri: 17 members of three families died mysteriously in a remote village in Jammu and Kashmir. The reason for these deaths is not known. While investigating the cause of death, officials have cordoned off the affected area near the Bawdi. (Bawdi) According to officials, some pesticides have been found in the water of the waterfall. Along with this, orders have been given to keep security personnel deployed near the Bawdi 24 hours a day. It has been reported that the presence of pesticides has been found in the Bawdi.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Kotrakanka Subdivision) Dil Mir has ordered to cordon off the Bawdi in Badhal village of Rajouri district and deploy two to three security personnel there round the clock. Additional Deputy Commissioner Mir said in an order, “The presence of some pesticides has been confirmed in the water samples taken from the Bawdi of Badhal village. The said Bawdi has been fenced. He said, “There is a possibility that the tribal population of the village can collect the water of this Bawdi. Therefore, Tehsildar Khawas should ensure that no villager uses the water of this Bawdi under any circumstances.” Amit Shah ordered to form a team In this case, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday ordered the formation of an inter-ministerial team to find out the cause of deaths in Badhal village. Officials said that Yasmeen Kausar, the last of the six children of Mohammad Aslam, who was undergoing treatment at SMGS Hospital in Jammu, also died. On the sidelines of an event, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “The Jammu and Kashmir Health Department and other departments investigated the deaths but the exact cause is yet to be ascertained. The Home Minister has constituted a team of inter-ministerial experts and they have reached here.” The patients had complained of fever, pain, nausea and loss of consciousness before dying within a few days of being admitted to hospitals.
