Jammu: Two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. Police gave this information. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation after receiving information about the presence of terrorists in Poshkri area of Anantnag, a police official said.
According to him, during the search, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, to which they retaliated and an encounter broke out between the two sides. According to the official, two terrorists were killed in the encounter. He said that both the terrorists had links with the banned terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen.
Additional Director General of Police (Kashmir region) Vijay Kumar tweeted, “(Security forces) killed Danish Bhat and Basharat Nabi, who belonged to banned terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen. Both were involved in the killing of Territorial Army soldier Salim on April 9, 2021 and two civilians in Jabalipora on May 29, 2021.
