Deadly attack on BJP candidate SR Ladher


Chandigarh: Polling in Punjab is to be held on February 20. Before this, all the political parties are giving their strength in the campaign. Meanwhile, a BJP candidate was attacked in Ludhiana on Sunday evening. Police say that some unidentified persons attacked the candidate’s car. BJP candidate from Gill seat of Ludhiana, SR Ladher had gone out to campaign. He was injured in the attack and was admitted to the hospital.

Police said, ‘Unknown people attacked Ladher. Why he did this is still not clear. Let us inform that Ladher has been an IAS officer of 1991 batch and is contesting for the first time. He is contesting against Congress MLA Kuldeep Singh Vaid. Vaid was also a 1992 batch civil service officer. He was later promoted.

Last time Prime Minister Modi could not hold a physical rally due to security reasons. Now BJP has made a plan for three rallies of PM Modi. Of these, today i.e. on February 14, Modi will address a public meeting in Jalandhar. After this, on February 16, he will be in Pathankot. On February 17, Prime Minister Modi will address the third public meeting in Abohar.
There are total 117 seats in Punjab out of which BJP is contesting on 65 seats. On the other hand, his ally Captain Amarinder Singh’s party is contesting on 37 seats. Shiromani Akali Dal (United) has fielded candidates on 15 seats. A day before the rally, PM Modi also met Baba Gurinder Singh Dhillon, the head of Radha Swami Satsang Dera.
