13.45 lakh gold stolen, police returned one and a half crore gold to the family

Mumbai: Usually, gold stolen from homes is rarely returned. But a family in Mumbai has got back the gold that was stolen 22 years ago. Then its price was around Rs 13.45 lakh. But now the police returned gold worth about 1.5 crore rupees to the owner of the famous fashion brand Chirag Din. Let us tell the whole matter.

According to the information, there was a theft in the year 1998 in the house of Arjun Daswani, who lives in Colaba. The miscreants had entered the house and took him and his wife hostage. Gold jewelery and old gold coins were stolen. Police had arrested 4 accused in this case. While two accused had absconded. During the hearing of the case, the court had ordered that the stolen goods would not be handed over to the owners until the remaining two accused were caught.

Arjun Daswani died in the year 2007. After this the family had almost forgotten the case of gold theft. But last year the court allowed the Mumbai Police to hand over the stolen gold to its owners.

Mumbai Police’s ACP Pandurang Shinde told that since 2002, that gold was with the police. Last year, the police commissioner had asked us to run a campaign that those whose stolen gold was recovered should be returned to their owners. We had applied in this regard in the court with the help of the owner of the gold, after which the court gave permission and the gold was returned to their owner.

The Daswani family is happy to get the gold back. Because along with the cost of gold being in crores, they have also got back the heritage of their ancestors. Sunil Pandey, the lawyer of the Daswani family, said that the Daswani family was happy with the news of the police. Because it was not just about the price. That heritage was a sign of his ancestors, which he was very happy to get. The market value of the goods that have been received back is about Rs 1.5 crore.
