Kolkata: West Bengal Governor (Governor ) CV Anand Bose has directed CM Mamata Banerjee to hold an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss burning issues in Bengal. The Governor has forwarded public complaints against the Kolkata Police Commissioner for immediate decision of the government. According to Raj Bhavan sources, in view of the uproar by the people demanding justice for the deceased woman doctor, West Bengal Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose on Sunday directed CM Mamata Banerjee to immediately call an emergency cabinet meeting and discuss the issue. Governor Bose has also said that the state government should take a decision on the people’s demand to replace Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal.
Governor directed to call emergency cabinet meeting
The source told PTI-Bhasha, “Governor Bose has directed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to call an emergency cabinet meeting to discuss the people’s demand for justice for the deceased woman doctor. Governor Bose has said that these burning issues are on record and the Mamata government cannot escape responsibility and remain silent on the disturbing developments in the state. According to the governor, the state should work under the Constitution and the rule of law. An ostrich-like attitude will not be beneficial and the state should pay heed to the public demand to remove the Kolkata Police Commissioner.”
