Jammu: An encounter broke out between terrorists (terrorists ) and security forces in a forest area of Doda district on Monday night. Five security personnel including an army officer were seriously injured in this encounter. Officials gave this information. Officials said that the soldiers of the National Rifles and Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police started a joint cordon and search operation at Dhari Gote Urbagi in Desa forest area at around 7:45 pm. After this the encounter started.
Officials said that four army personnel including an officer and a policeman were injured in the firing that lasted for more than 20 minutes. Officials said that the injured have been taken to the hospital where their condition remains critical. The army said that additional troops have been sent to the area and the operation was going on till the last information came. According to officials, the operation was started after information about the presence of terrorists in the area. A police spokesman confirmed the encounter but said further details were awaited. The army’s 16th Corps, also known as the White Knight Corps, said in a post on social media platform X: “Additional troops have been sent to the area, the operation is ongoing.”
