Kolkata: A situation of tension again arose on Sandeshkhali Island in West Bengal on Sunday. This situation arose when BJP supporters allegedly attacked a Trinamool Congress worker during a protest. Tatan Gayen, an aide of Trinamool Congress MLA Sukumar Mahata, was attacked with stones a short distance from the local police station. Immediately after the incident, police reached the spot and riot control force was also called to the spot.
BJP workers protested on Sandeshkhali island on Sunday. During this, party workers accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) government of registering false cases against them.

New twist in the case after the video went viral
The Sandeshkhali case took a shocking turn early last month when a video went viral. In the video, local BJP leader Gangadhar Koyal was reportedly seen saying that there was no rape or sexual assault in Sandeshkhali and convincing the women to lodge a complaint at the behest of BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari, leader of the opposition in the Bengal Assembly. it was done. BJP and its leaders have claimed that the video clip has been tampered.
In another shocking incident, a woman has alleged that people associated with BJP made her sign a blank paper and then filed a false complaint of rape in her name. After this, political turmoil has erupted and TMC has accused BJP of fabricating stories to tarnish its image for political gains.
TMC leaders accused of circulating fake videos
On Sunday, BJP workers protested outside the local police station in Sandeshkhali and demanded action against local Trinamool Congress leaders. He accused TMC leaders of circulating fake videos. Rekha Patra, resident of Sandeshkhali, BJP candidate for Basirhat Lok Sabha seat, was also included in these protesters.
While talking to the media, a female BJP supporter accused the local administration of filing false cases against BJP supporters. He said, “The Trinamool government is troubling us because the ground is slipping from under their feet.”
Responding to allegations of women being paid to file sexual harassment allegations, he said, “Has Mamata Banerjee come here even once and seen anyone paying us money? The mothers of Sandeshkhali have taken to the streets to honor their .”
Another female protestor targeted the woman who has alleged that BJP leaders have filed a false complaint of rape in her name. He said, “How much money has he got for claiming that everything is a lie? He should be arrested, otherwise people will not leave him.”
Someone must have instigated the attack: TMC MLA
Trinamool Congress MLA Sukumar Mahata has said that someone might have instigated the attack on his colleague. He told the local media, “They had surrounded the police station. Then they were instigated to attack. Is this political decency?” In the visuals of the incident, women are seen around Mahata’s associate.
Sajal Ghosh, a BJP leader from Sandeshkhali, has said that there was no law and order in Sandeshkhali for 12 years. He told the media, “Till date, Trinamool Congress has beaten up whoever it wants. Three of our workers were shot dead, their bodies were not found. Therefore, today’s incident cannot be called unfortunate.”
