Chittoor : Chandramouli, a farmer from Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, is in limelight. He has earned Rs 4 crore by selling tomatoes (tomatoes) in the last 45 days. In this, a huge profit of Rs 3 crore has been earned. He told that he was sure about tomatoes that the cost would be covered, but this time the income has broken all the records. He told that he had sown tomato plants in April and took care of these plants through advanced technology on his 22 acres of land and sold 40,000 boxes of tomatoes in a period of 45 days. He sold his produce at the Kolar market in Karnataka, which is close to his native place. In the market, a 15 kg basket of tomatoes cost between Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500 after he sold 40,000 boxes in the last 45 days. Farmer Chandramouli said, “From the yield I have received so far, I have earned around Rs 4 crore. In total, I had to invest Rs 1 crore in my 22 acres of land to get the yield.” This includes commission and transportation charges. Therefore, the profit will be Rs 3 crore.

Chandramouli said that rare varieties of tomato plants were sown in 22 acres of agricultural land. Took care of them and fulfilled every need of the plants with techniques like micro irrigation.
Farmer Chandramouli told that we have been growing tomatoes for many years and this year we have got the benefit of our experience. Due to the skyrocketing prices of tomatoes, our earnings also made a record.
Not only tomato cultivation, but its marketing, storage and delivery to the market is also necessary. All such aspects were taken care of.
Farmer Chandramouli said that now tomatoes are going to North India and it is expected to remain expensive till August.
