The Indian Meteorological Department said that the ‘extremely severe cyclonic storm’ is now reaching the coast of Saurashtra and Kutch with a speed of 115-125 km. It is being told that it may take 2 hours for the stormy cyclone to reach Jakhau Port and this process will last for 5 to 6 hours.
Director General of Delhi Meteorological Department, Dr. Mrityunjay Mohapatra said, “The cyclonic storm Biparjoy is moving at a speed of 115 to 125 kilometers per hour in the coastal areas. It is raining very heavily in the coastal areas of Gujarat, very strong winds in many areas. is also running. The Meteorological Department told that after hitting the coast, the cyclone will move forward. At the same time, by June 16, this cyclone will end completely. It is being feared that in the same time there will be a lot of damage in the coastal areas.
In some places, storm waves can go up to 3 to 6 meters high. Mud and thatched houses along the coast are expected to be completely destroyed, while permanent concrete structures (pucca buildings) are also likely to be damaged.
According to the latest bulletin of IMD, the speed of Cyclone Biparjoy was 50 to 60 kmph while hitting the coasts, but now its speed is likely to be 125 to 150 kmph. While it is raining very heavily in many areas, strong winds are blowing in many coastal areas. According to the received news, trees have been uprooted and fallen in many areas of Jamnagar. Damage reports are yet to come. The diameter of the center of this storm is said to be about 50 kilometers.
