What kind of savagery ( savagery) is this?

New Delhi. A heart-wrenchin  ( savagery)  incident has come to the fore in Patan district of Gujarat. During a cricket match in the playground in the school premises, a controversy arose over a Dalit child touching the ball. Later this quarrel increased to such an extent that the accused cut off the thumb of the Dalit boy’s uncle. Police has registered an FIR in the present case. The incident took place on Sunday in Kakoshi village of Patan district. According to the FIR, the accused, in a fit of rage, threatened the boy who had picked up a ball in the playground of a school in the village.

The accused also allegedly made casteist remarks with an intention to insult and threaten members of the Dalit community, the official said. He told that when the boy’s uncle Dheeraj Parmar objected to this, the matter remained calm for some time. Later in the evening, a group of seven persons armed with sharp weapons attacked the complainant Dheeraj and his brother Kirti. He told that one of the accused cut off Kirti’s thumb and seriously injured her.

The officer said that an FIR has been registered under IPC sections 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons), 506 (criminal intimidation) and SC/ST Act. Efforts are on to nab the accused.
