During the sudden collapse of Agwani Sultanganj bridge, many people were seen making live video of it. Its video is also going viral on social media, telling about the expenditure of a huge amount of 1700 crores and the corruption in it. A year ago also a part of this bridge had collapsed. It is included in the dream project of the Chief Minister.
It is being told that the entire super structure above pier number 10, 11, 12 of the bridge has collapsed from the Aguani side, which will be a part of about 200 meters. However, the reason for the structure collapse of the bridge is not yet clear. This Mahasetu is being constructed by SP Singla Company.
Last year also a part of the bridge fell
Let us tell you that on April 27 last year also the super structure of this under-construction bridge fell into the river. In the strong storm and rain, about 100 feet long part had fallen on the ground. After this the work of bridge construction started again. This time around 80 percent work of the super structure was completed. Not only this, 45 percent of the approach road work was also completed, but due to the collapse of the bridge, questions have been raised on this project.
Nitish government on BJP’s target
The opposition is attacking Nitish Kumar’s work after the under-construction bridge connecting Khagaria to Bhagalpur got submerged in the river Ganga. BJP has called it an example of corruption. BJP said that complaints of irregularities have been made in the construction of this bridge earlier also, but the Nitish government did not act on it. As a result of this, the bridge collapsed completely.
This bridge is a very ambitious project of CM Nitish
Please tell that this is an ambitious project of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He had laid its foundation stone on 23 February 2014 at MD College ground in Parbatta and on 9 March 2015 the construction work of the bridge was started by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar from Murarka College Sultanganj ground. With the construction of this bridge, the distance between North and South Bihar will reduce considerably. Apart from this, lakhs of Kanwaris who go to Deoghar every year for Shravani Mela will be benefitted by this.
With the construction of this bridge and road, NH 31 and NH 80 will be connected. Pasraha on National Highway 31 and Munger Bhagalpur on National Highway 80 near Sultanganj are to be matched. The length of this Mahasetu is about 3.160 km, while the total length of the approach road is about 25 km.
