2 trucks and car fall into drain, youth dies

Chamba. In Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba district, a young man has died due to the collapse of a span bridge, while another is injured. When the bridge broke, two big trucks and an Alto car were passing over it, which fell into the drain, due to which the young man died in the accident. After the incident, a relief and rescue operation was conducted late in the night and the injured youth has been sent to the hospital.

According to the information, this bailey bridge was built on the Chauli drain on the Khadmukh-Holi road in Chamba. Two vehicles (dumpers) were passing on Friday night. During this the bridge broke down. After falling into the drain, the injured was pulled out after a lot of effort and after first aid at the Community Health Center Holi was referred to the Medical College Chamba. The deceased has been identified as Subhash Chand (28) s/o Pritam Chand village Mando tehsil Bharmour and injured Vivek Thakur (40) s/o Somraj village and post office Banikhet.

Due to the breaking of the bridge, the contact of 25 thousand population of nine panchayats has been cut off from Bharmour and Chamba. Bharmour MLA Dr. Janak Raj expressed grief over the incident and also said that he has ordered the officials of the Public Works Department to start this bridge soon.

It is being told that the capacity of this valley bridge was close to 9 tonnes, but during the incident two big trucks and a car were passing through it. This bridge is broken due to overloading. During the incident, vehicles of private company management carrying debris from Edit-Three were coming towards the crusher plant at Kuthed dam site via Chauli bridge. After the incident, the team of fire department, 108 ambulance and joint team of Bharmour administration had reached.
