Uttarakhand to become adventure tourism hub

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Uttarakhand Chapter-2025 Conclave organized under the Times of India Conclave at Fairfield by Marriott Malsi, Dehradun.

Sharing his views on various issues related to the state’s development and progress, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that before 2014, the country’s politics was dominated by scandals, scams, misgovernance, and corruption. India was viewed as a weak nation on international platforms, and its image was politically unstable. However, after 2014, under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a historic period of renaissance of India’s self-respect, self-esteem, and nationalism began. Today, with the policy of “Reform, Perform, and Transform,” India is setting new benchmarks of development and prosperity. At the same time, it is establishing itself as a strong, capable, and powerful nation on global platforms.

The Chief Minister said that respected Modi ji is the only Prime Minister of the country who has reached out to our remote and border areas and made efforts towards their overall development. Moreover, Modi ji is the first Prime Minister of the country who has taken many historic steps for the upliftment of the middle class. Today, on one hand, income up to Rs 12 lakh 75 thousand has been exempted from tax to provide relief to the middle class. Meanwhile, through the Next Generation GST reforms, not only has a major relief been provided to the citizens, but our local industries and businesses have also been given a new energy and momentum.

The Chief Minister said that the work done in our state under the leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also unique. Today, our government lays the foundation stone for a project, completing it within the stipulated time and inaugurating it.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that recently a case of cheating came to light. Upon receiving information about the case, our government took immediate action, arrested the accused, and formed an SIT to investigate the entire examination. However, some people, using this case as a shield, tried to further their political interests by using our youth as a shield, and efforts were being made to spread anarchy in the state. Those who, for their political interests, have been questioning the CBI and ED investigations and do not accept the court’s decisions, were trying to take political advantage of this case by putting the youth forward and demanding a CBI investigation.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “Seeing our children suffering in the heat and sun, and to thwart their conspiracy, I personally visited the youth yesterday and assured them that a CBI investigation will be recommended and all their just demands will be met. It’s because our government implemented the country’s most stringent anti-cheating law to make recruitment processes transparent and curb the cheating mafia. As a result, over 25,000 youth in the state have secured government jobs in the last four years, a record in itself. Since the implementation of this law, we have put behind bars over 100 cheating mafias who, under previous governments, had turned cheating into an industry in Uttarakhand. All these steps have been taken by our government to ensure the future and well-being of the youth.”

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “I want to make it clear that our government is committed to protecting the future of the youth and we will not allow those who tamper with their dreams to succeed at any cost. Some people are even saying that we have bowed down to the youth or those demanding a CBI investigation. I want to make it clear to all such people that I can bow my head or even have my head chopped off to protect the interests of the youth.”

The Chief Minister said that despite the disasters that have plagued the state this year, over 4.2 million pilgrims have completed the Chardham Yatra and returned safely to their destinations. We have now also launched the “Winter Yatra” in the state, allowing pilgrims and tourists to visit our religious sites and other tourist destinations even during the winter. This will also boost the local economy.

The Chief Minister said that to promote winter travel and adventure tourism, the respected Prime Minister himself visited Harsil and Mukhba in March this year and appealed to all countrymen to come to the mountains during winter. We are also working on several projects to promote adventure activities like trekking, mountain biking, river rafting, paragliding, and making Uttarakhand an adventure tourism hub not only for the country but for the world.

The Chief Minister said that we are working with determination to make the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra to be held in the year 2026 and the Kumbh to be held in the Devnagari Haridwar in the year 2027 divine and grand. Today, our state is rapidly emerging as a “special centre” in the field of religious tourism as well as wellness tourism, adventure tourism, film shooting destination and wedding destination.

The Chief Minister said that today, industrial development is being ensured by creating a conducive environment for industries in the state. We organized the Global Investors Summit in the state and signed MoUs worth ₹3.56 lakh crore with entrepreneurs from India and abroad. I am proud that within a year and a half of this summit, we have been successful in implementing projects worth more than ₹1 lakh crore.

The Chief Minister said that our government is also working on several important schemes to promote the local economy and tourism in the state. Through the ‘One District, Two Products’ scheme, we have promoted local livelihood opportunities, while the ‘House of Himalayas’ brand has helped in giving wider recognition to our local products.

The Chief Minister said that our government is fully committed to preserving our cultural values and demographics. On the one hand, we have implemented strict anti-conversion and anti-riot laws in the state. We have launched Operation Kalanemi to apprehend jihadis who defame the Sanatan Hindu religion. We have also taken strict action against land jihad, freeing over 9,000 acres of government land from land jihadis. In addition, our government has sealed nearly 250 illegal madrasas and demolished over 500 illegal structures. Recently, our government has also implemented a new law in the state and decided to abolish the Madrasa Board. Under this law, all madrasas in the state that do not teach the government-mandated syllabus will be closed after July 1, 2026. Furthermore, our government has also achieved the historic milestone of implementing a uniform law for all its citizens by being the first in the country to implement the Uniform Civil Code.

The Chief Minister said, “I urge everyone to embrace the respected Prime Minister’s mantra of ‘Adopt Swadeshi, Strengthen the Country’ and use as many indigenous products as possible. Our country has the capability to manufacture everything from pen nibs to spacecraft domestically. We must now be determined to determine whether each item is indigenous or foreign before purchasing it. Prioritizing indigenous products will not only empower our artisans, farmers, and entrepreneurs, but also strengthen our resolve for a self-reliant India.”

On this occasion, film actor Mr. Ashutosh Rana along with popular dignitaries from film, media and various fields were present.
