Srinagar. Pictures of a fierce avalanche were captured on camera on Saturday in Sarbal located in Ganderbal, Jammu and Kashmir. This is the second incident of avalanche in this hill station within the last two days. Earlier, two laborers from Kishtwar were killed in an avalanche on Thursday at the site of a construction company in Ganderbal in Sonamarg district.

According to the information received, the latest avalanche occurred near the barracks of a construction company, causing panic among the workers. Harpal Singh, general manager of the construction company building the Zojila tunnel, told that all the workers are safe.

In this video of avalanche viral on social media, it is seen that huge clouds of snow are moving towards the barracks. Seeing this, the scared people ran towards the building shouting. Meanwhile, a thick sheet of snow completely surrounds the barracks.

When the avalanche passes over the barracks, the entire area is immersed in a thick fog of snow with strong winds. At the end of the video, the roofs of the barracks are completely covered with snow.

Avalanche warning in 12 districts
Let us tell you that after moderate to heavy snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir a day earlier, an avalanche warning has been issued for 12 districts including Bandipora. SDMA officials said, “There is a possibility of avalanches with a high-level danger in areas above 2,000 meters in Kupwara district in the next 24 hours. There is a possibility of avalanches with ‘moderate danger’ in Bandipora, Baramulla, Doda, Ganderbal, Kishtwar, Poonch, Ramban and Reasi districts with a height of more than 2,000 meters in the next 24 hours.

Officials said that there is a possibility of avalanches in Anantnag, Kulgam and Rajouri districts in the next 24 hours in areas with a height of more than 2,000 meters. In view of this, people have been advised to take precautions and avoid going to avalanche-prone areas.
