Many dignitaries were present in this program. ( Europe) Ghol fish is one of the largest fish found in India. This fish is found in golden-brown color in the marine areas of Gujarat and Maharashtra.
This fish is considered very valuable. The demand for its meat is very high. Ghol fish is also used to make beer and wine. The air bladder of fish is used in pharmaceuticals (making medicines). Ghol fish meat and air bladder are sold separately. Air bladder is exported from Mumbai. There is a high demand for this fish all over the world, which India fulfills.

The length of Ghol fish is about one and a half meter. The longer it is, the higher its price will be. The price of Ghol fish per unit length can be up to Rs 5 lakh. With such a huge amount a person can take a trip to Europe. Fishermen who are capable of catching ghol fish can earn lakhs annually. Ghol fish is golden-brown in colour. Its scientific name is Protonibia diacanthus. It is also called blackspotted croaker. Not only this, some people also know it as gold fish and fish with a heart of gold.

During the two-day Global Fisheries Conference India 2023, Union Minister Parshottam Rupala said that some time ago, through a program organized by the Fisheries Department, the governments of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh had also declared this fish as the state fish of their respective states.
