Five soldiers(Five soldiers) martyred in the attack

Srinagar. Thursday’s terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch comes ahead of the G20 meeting in Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto’s visit to India in May. Five army soldier s (Five soldiers)  were martyred in this attack. Just a few days ago, a top-level review was held on the security situation in the Valley ahead of this high-profile conference.

According to a viral social media post, the People’s Anti-Fascist Front, a proxy organization of Jaish-e-Mohammed, has claimed responsibility for the terror attack, but official confirmation of its involvement is awaited. The special thing is that in this post PAFF has threatened to target the G20 meeting to be held in Srinagar.

The Army said, “Today, at about 3 am, unidentified terrorists opened fire on an Army vehicle moving between Bhimber Gali and Poonch in Rajouri sector, taking advantage of heavy rain and low visibility. The vehicle caught fire due to the use of grenade. Five personnel of the Rashtriya Rifles unit deployed for anti-terrorist operations in the area were unfortunately martyred in the incident.”

In these, another seriously injured soldier was immediately taken to the Army Hospital in Rajouri and is undergoing treatment. Raids are being conducted in search of those who carried out the attack.
What is PAFF?
A message is going viral on social media claiming responsibility for the attack by PAFF. In the post, the group has threatened to target the G20 meeting in Srinagar.

The Ministry of Home Affairs said in a notification, “The People’s Anti-Fascist Front emerged in the year 2019 as a proxy organization of Jaish-e-Mohammed. It is a banned terrorist organization listed at serial number 6 of the First Schedule under the UAPA Act.

The notification said, “People’s Anti-Fascist Front regularly issues threats against Indian security forces, political leaders, citizens working in Jammu and Kashmir from other states…not only that it along with other organizations in Jammu and Kashmir Apart from this, terrorists in other major cities of India are actively involved in plotting and radicalization, physically and on social media, to commit violent acts.
