Kolkata. The Border Security Force has informed about two birds being smuggled. BSF rescued two rare species of birds from smugglers in a search operation conducted after receiving the information. The force recovered 2 wooden boxes. There were dwarf cassowary birds in this box. The birds were handed over to the Forest Department in Krishnanagar. Let us tell you that West Bengal has recorded the maximum number of species during the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) among 37 states and union territories of India. Of the more than 1,000 species recorded in India, Bengal has 493 species.

Cassowary birds are considered the most dangerous in the world. These birds have the power to kill someone within minutes. Birds of another species of this have been caught in West Bengal. They are less dangerous. Cassowaries are originally found in the rainforests of Australia and West Africa. It is the third longest bird in the world after ostrich and emu. Cassowary birds can run at a speed of about 31 miles per hour. Also, with the help of their strong legs, they can jump up to a height of about 7 feet in the air. With these sharp claws, they can complete anyone’s work in a moment. Its attack is so deadly that it can cause a wound of 4-5 inches in the body.
