Kolkata. The Border Security Force has informed about two birds being smuggled. BSF rescued two rare species of birds from smugglers in a search operation conducted after receiving the information. The force recovered 2 wooden boxes. There were dwarf cassowary birds in this box. The birds were handed over to the Forest Department in Krishnanagar. Let us tell you that West Bengal has recorded the maximum number of species during the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) among 37 states and union territories of India. Of the more than 1,000 species recorded in India, Bengal has 493 species.
