Howrah (West Bengal). A huge amount of cash has been recovered from 3 Congress MLAs from Jharkhand. Superintendent of Police (SP) Swati Bhangalia gave this information on Saturday. When he was asked a question about the number of cash, he said that it will be counted only after the counting machine comes. The names of the three Congress MLAs who have been arrested are Jamtara MLA Irfan Ansari, Khijri MLA Rajesh Kachhap and Kolebira MLA Naman Bixal. The three Congress MLAs were traveling in the same vehicle and were on their way to East Midnapore. Late Saturday evening, his car was stopped near Ranihati Mor under Panchla police station and search was done.
It is being told that a huge amount of cash was kept in the vehicle. On receiving information about the incident, Superintendent of Police Swati Bhangalia reached the spot. He told that on the basis of secret information, a special checking operation was conducted at Ranihati Mor. Meanwhile, a car coming from Jamtara in Jharkhand was stopped. Inside the car were three Congress MLAs from Jamtara Rajesh Kachhap, Naman Vicksal and Irfan Ansari. Unaccounted cash was found inside the car.
The SP said that it is not possible to tell how much cash is there at the moment. Bank officials are being contacted. Counting of cash will be done by counting machine. “The MLAs are being questioned. Jamtara MLA’s board was also installed on the vehicle. The inspection of the matter is going on.’
After the recovery of such a large amount of cash, the BJP has targeted the Congress. Jharkhand’s party general secretary Aditya Sahu said, “Ever since his government came to power, corruption is on the rise. Earlier also in Jharkhand – huge amount of cash was seized in the houses of the officers. They use the hard earned money of the public for other works. The police caught them and it came to the fore.
