Amaravati: Adulteration in the Prasad of the world famous Tirupati Venkateswara temple has been confirmed. According to the test report, animal fat has been confirmed in the ghee used to make Prasad. This has been claimed by TDP. (TDP ) Amid the controversy over the alleged use of substandard material and animal fat in making laddus, the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Thursday claimed that the adulteration has been confirmed by the Gujarat-based livestock laboratory. TDP has claimed that beef fat, fish oil and palm oil were being used to make laddus distributed as prasad in the famous Sri Venkateswara temple of Tirupati. TDP spokesperson showed lab report
TDP spokesperson Anam Venkat Ramana Reddy showed reporters the alleged laboratory report, which confirmed the presence of “beef fat” in the ghee sample given. The alleged laboratory report also claimed the presence of “lard” (related to pig fat) and fish oil in the samples. The date of sampling was July 9, 2024 and the laboratory report was dated July 16.
Test done in the lab here
The laboratory report of the Center for Livestock and Food Analysis and Study or CALF of the National Dairy Development Board of Gujarat has revealed the presence of animal fat in the ghee used to make the famous Tirupati laddu when the YSRCP was in power.
Official confirmation from temple management awaited
However, there has been no official confirmation on the laboratory report from the Andhra Pradesh government or the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), which manages the famous Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple.
CM Chandrababu Naidu had claimed
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday alleged that the previous YSRCP government had used substandard material and animal fat in making the sacred sweet Tirupati Laddus. The opposition YSR Congress Party has strongly denied this allegation.
BJP demanded action
After the lab report came, BJP and TDP have criticized former CM Jaganmohan Reddy. BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that God will not forgive for this big betrayal of Hindus. The use of animal fat in the laddu is a deep betrayal of the faith and belief of Hindus who worship Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy.
At the same time, Raja Singh said that the use of beef fat and fish oil in the sacred Tirupati Laddus Prasadam is a direct attack on our rich cultural and religious heritage, which cannot be tolerated. I urge Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji and Home Minister Amit Shah ji to take immediate action against those responsible for this heinous crime.
