Patna. On the inputs of Patna Police, Uttar Pradesh ATS has arrested Nuruddin Jangi, a member of Popular Front of India (PFI), involved in anti-national activities from Lucknow. Nuruddin Jangi, a lawyer by profession, was apprehended from near Mawaiya metro station in Lucknow on Saturday. Nuruddin is a resident of Sher Mohammad Gali of Urdu Bazar in Darbhanga, Bihar. He has been associated with PFI for a long time. On July 11, he fled from Bihar after two suspected terrorists were apprehended in Patna’s Phulwari Sharif, and the Patna Police registered an FIR against 26 people in the case.
The name of Nuruddin Jangi is also included in the list of nominees in the case at number 19, so due to fear of arrest, he changed his whereabouts and fled from Bihar to Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow. He was staying in a Musafirkhana near the Charbagh area here. He is accused of providing legal aid to get the former members of the banned terrorist organization SIMI released from jail, who later also joined the PFI.
According to Manish Kumar, ASP of Phulwari Sharif, the arrested Nuruddin Jangi is an active member of PFI. He used to attend her every meeting, and used to go to every training program.
In the year 2015, Sanaullah was the Darbhanga district president of PFI. During this Nuruddin Jangi came in contact with him and then joined PFI and SDPI. Nuruddin Jangi has contested from Darbhanga in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections on SDPI ticket, in which he got around 600 votes. He took LLB degree in the year 2017 from CM Law College, Darbhanga. He has advocated for legal action in courts from Bihar to Delhi to free the former members of SIMI.
Nuruddin Jangi, who was caught with the help of UP ATS, is being brought from Lucknow to Bihar. Patna Police will interrogate it here. This is the fourth arrest in the PFI Terror Module case. Earlier, Patna Police had transferred Athar Parvez, Mohd from Phulwari Sharif. Jalaluddin and Armaan Malik were arrested.
