Noida:Noida turned into a battlefield as massive protests (massive protests)over low wages (low wages )spiraled into violence — but this was no sudden outburst. Investigations now reveal a well-planned, tech-driven operation working behind the scenes.
According to police, hundreds of workers were mobilized in just days using multiple WhatsApp groups, where people were added rapidly through QR codes. This clever trick allowed organizers to grow their network quickly while staying hidden.
Even more shocking, officials suspect a “call center-like setup” was used to coordinate messages and incite workers. Numerous fake social media accounts were created within days, spreading similar messages and pushing people towards protest.
Police have already arrested around 400 individuals, and the probe is now digging deeper into possible funding sources and external links, including whether any out-of-state or international connections played a role.
Amid the chaos, the government stepped in. Under the direction of Yogi Adityanath, minimum wages have been increased:
- Unskilled workers: ₹13,690/month (earlier ₹11,313)
- Semi-skilled workers: ₹15,059/month
- Skilled workers: ₹16,868/month
The CM also warned companies to ensure fair pay, overtime, safety, and proper benefits, especially for women workers.
💥 Big Picture:
What looked like a workers’ protest is now being seen as a highly organised digital operation, raising serious questions about how quickly unrest can be engineered using social media tools.
👉 The investigation is ongoing — and what comes next could reveal an even bigger network behind the scenes.
