Lucknow. Voting will be held on April 9 in the 27 seats of the Legislative Council by the representatives of the local body area. Although the election was announced for a total of 36 seats in 35 constituencies, but BJP candidates have already won the elections in 9 seats. In such constituencies, there is no candidate of any other party other than him. Therefore, he is sure to be elected unopposed. The seats where BJP candidates will be elected unopposed are Badaun, Hardoi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Mirzapur-Sonbhadra, Banda-Hamirpur, Aligarh, Bulandshahr and Mathura-Etah-Mainpuri. The seats where voting is going on are Moradabad-Bijnor, Rampur-Bareilly, Pilibhit-Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Lucknow-Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Bahraich, Azamgarh-Mau, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jhansi-Jalaun-Lalitpur, Kanpur-Fatehpur, Etawah-Farrukhabad, Agra-Firozabad, Meerut-Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar-Saharanpur, Gonda, Faizabad, Basti- Siddharthnagar, Gorakhpur-Maharajganj, Deoria and Ballia. In these 3 seats, Pratapgarh, Meerut-Ghaziabad and Deoria, maximum 6-6 candidates are in the fray. Although a total of 104 candidates are in the fray for all the 36 seats, the fate of 95 candidates in the 27 polling seats will be decided by the local body’s representatives. Usually there is a MLC post in 1 district, but an MLC is also elected by combining two-three districts. Mathura-Eta-Mainpuri is the only constituency with 3 districts from where two MLCs are elected. The tenure of all the won MLAs will be 6 years. Although there is a face-to-face contest between SP-BJP in every seat, but the most interesting election in all these seats is being held in Azamgarh Mau. Here Vikrant Singh Rishu, son of BJP’s MLC Yashwant Singh, is contesting as an independent candidate. Being a BJP MLC, Yashwant Singh has been expelled from the party for 6 years due to his son contesting against the BJP candidate. Let us now know who can vote in this election. The 27 MLAs will be elected by those people who have already been elected by the people. Keep in mind here that 9 out of 36 will be elected unopposed, so voting will be held only on 27 seats. A total of 9 elected public representatives will vote in this. Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Member, Kshetra Panchayat Member, Block Pramukh, District Panchayat Member, District Panchayat President, Member of Municipalities and Chairman of Municipalities. Apart from this, the MLAs elected in the assembly will also vote. In this election, there is no need to stamp the election symbol or press the button in the EVM, but to write the first priority i.e. number 1 in front of the name of your favorite candidate. The candidate who gets the highest first priority wins. Voting will be held on April 9 from 8 am to 4 pm. Counting of votes will take place on April 12 from 8 am and it should be expected that by noon the results of all the seats will be out. In this election, the ruling party’s MLAs have been winning most of the seats. In such a situation, there is a possibility that out of 36 seats, above 30 BJP candidates will win. After the election results, BJP will get majority in the Legislative Council. At present it has 33 members in the Legislative Council. At present, BJP has 33, SP 17, BSP 4, Congress, Apna Dal (S) and Nishad Party have one MLC each. Apart from this, there are 2 teachers’ team, 1 independent group and 1 independent MLC. That is, 61 MLAs are present and 39 seats are vacant. Elections are being held on 36 out of 39.
