Gone. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated Tetar reservoir under Ganga Jal Supply Scheme at Tetar in Gaya district. The CM also inaugurated the arrival of Gangajal in Tetar reservoir by pressing the button. On the arrival of Ganga water in Tetar reservoir, the Chief Minister bowed down by offering flowers in the reservoir and expressed happiness by clapping. During the on-site inspection of Tetar Reservoir, the officials informed the Chief Minister about the various works done here under the Ganga Jal Supply Scheme.
During this, the Chief Minister congratulated the officers and engineers for their efforts and success for the auspicious arrival of Ganga water in Tetar reservoir. The Chief Minister told the officials that now the Ganges water has reached here. Do the maintenance of the works being done under this scheme properly, whatever is needed, the state government will fulfill it.
‘Ganga river water will be stored throughout the years’
Addressing the journalists after the program, the Chief Minister said that we had decided that Gangajal would be sent to Gaya, Bodh Gaya, Nawada and Rajgir. The water of river Ganga for Gaya and Bodh Gaya will be stored here for a whole year. From here the water went and would be sent to Bodh Gaya. We came here to inspect it. We want that all the work should be completed fast so that people start getting Gangajal at these places. It is a matter of great pleasure. Bihar has both Gayaji and Gangaji. Now Gangaji has come here for Gaya ji. This is not a simple matter. The water of river Ganga is reaching Gayaji, it is a big deal.
‘Gangajal will be brought for four months’
He said that we will bring the water of river Ganga here for four months, for the remaining eight months the Ganga water will be stored here. All this is being done so that the people of Gaya, Bodh Gaya, Nawada and Rajgir can get the water of river Ganga. Earlier there was water problem in Gaya. 4500 crores spent
The CM said that we started the Jal-Jeevan-Hariyali campaign in the year 2019. Even once before, we thought that we would deliver water to these places, but at that time it could not be done. After meeting again, we decided to start this scheme. About four and a half thousand crore rupees have been spent on this scheme. If there is no problem anywhere, Rs.
‘Gaya, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir and Nawada historical places’
Nitish Kumar said that after treating the water of river Ganga, purifying it and making it potable and will take it to every door-to-door. The water of river Ganges has also reached Gaya after Rajgir. It is a matter of great happiness that the supply has started at all the places simultaneously. We have renamed Gaya Reservoir Scheme as Ganga Ji Gaya Reservoir Scheme. People will be very happy to get Gangajal in their homes. Gaya, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir and Nawada are historical places. We wanted to bring the water of river Ganga to these places. We go everywhere and see the work there.
Work going on fast in Nawada too
CM told that for Nawada also I have asked to get the work done there expeditiously. Gaya, Bodh Gaya and Rajgir are all very important and historical places and the way to reach here is through Nawada. The experts who are there for this have been engaged in this work. How the water has been brought from inside the ground, we have seen the work ourselves going from place to place, how the water will reach there. What will be the alignment, through which route the water will reach these places, the officials were also talked about and necessary instructions were given to them. The work is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
