Congress leaders joining BJP, big setback for Congress

Shimla: Just before the assembly elections going to be held in Himachal Pradesh, the Congress has suffered a major setback. In Himachal Pradesh, many Congress leaders and members of the state, including former General Secretary of State Congress Committee Dharampal Thakur Khand, joined the BJP i.e. Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday. Four days before the voting in Himachal Pradesh, a total of 26 Congress leaders joined the ruling party BJP.

The departure of 26 Congress leaders to the BJP just before the assembly elections is a big setback for the Congress party. Congress leaders joined the BJP in the presence of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and BJP’s state election in-charge Sudhan Singh. BJP candidate from Shimla, Sanjay Sood was also present on this occasion.

Among those who left Congress and joined BJP are former general secretary of Congress Dharampal Thakur, former secretary Akash Saini, former councilor Rajan Thakur, former district vice president Amit Mehta, Meher Singh Kanwar, Youth Congress Rahul Negi, Jai Maa Shakti Social Sansthan President Joginder Thakur, Naresh Verma, Chamyana Ward member Yogendra Singh, Taxi Union member Rakesh Chauhan, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage Shimla President Dharmendra Kumar, Virender Sharma, Rahul Rawat, Sonu Sharma, Arun Kumar, Shivam Kumar and Gopal Thakur.

Not only this, Chaman Lal, District Congress Committee secretary Devendra Singh, Mahendra Singh, former Youth Congress general secretary Munish Mandla, Balkrishna Bobby, Sunil Sharma, Surendra Thakur, Sandeep Samta and Ravi also joined the BJP on Monday itself. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur warmly welcomed all of them in the BJP. During this, he said that let us work together for the historic victory of BJP.

Earlier, BJP President JP Nadda expressed confidence in the party’s victory ahead of the Himachal Assembly elections and said that the people of the state trust Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He lauded Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in the electoral state and said that he implemented the policies on the ground. Let us inform that the voting in Himachal Pradesh is on 12 November and the counting of votes will be done on 8 December.
