Dhamtari. Three kilometers before Jagtra on the Dhamtari-Kanker National Highway, 10 people have died in a head-on collision between a speeding truck and a Bolero of wedding processions. The wedding celebration has turned into mourning due to this incident. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel(Baghel ) has expressed grief over the incident.
According to information received from Purur police station in-charge Arun Kumar Sahu, 10 people from Soram-Bhatgaon went to village Markatola in Kanker district in a procession in a Bolero vehicle. While returning at night, his Bolero had a head-on collision with a speeding truck on the Dhamtari-Kanker National Highway three kilometers before Jagtra in Balod district. Nine people aboard the Bolero died on the spot in the accident. While a boy riding Bolero was seriously injured. With the help of passers-by and other people, the people trapped in the Bolero vehicle were pulled out. On receiving the news of the incident, the police reached the spot and admitted the seriously injured to a private hospital in Dhamtari city, but the child also died. With the help of 108 Sanjeevani vehicles and police vehicles, the police have kept the dead bodies in the sawmill of Community Health Center Gurur. Due to the late night, the people who died could not be identified. It is being told that all the people who died are residents of Soram and Bhatgaon.
On getting information about the incident, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed condolences by tweeting. He wrote in his condolence message that I pray to God to give peace to the departed souls and courage to their families.
