Maharajganj. A strange incident has come to the fore from Uttar Pradesh. A case went on here for 33 years, but the court sentenced the accused to just one day. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1,500 only on the accused. The matter is of Purandarpur area. The accused was arrested by the police under ‘Operation Shikanja’.
According to the police, Purandarpur had arrested three accused Hamimuddin, Sheesh Muhammad and Budhiram in the year 1989. A case was registered against all three under sections 382 and 411 of the IPC. After this, the police produced the accused in the court. The court started the trial and the hearing continued.
Meanwhile, the prosecution asked the court to punish the accused. The court saw the entire evidence and on the basis of the evidence sent the accused to jail for one day. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1500 on the accused. The court said that if the accused do not pay the fine, then they should be kept in 10 additional jails.
