Srinagar: Earthquake tremors were felt at around 3:28 am today, 62 km from Katra in Jammu and Kashmir, which measured 3.4 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology, the depth of the earthquake was 5 km below the ground. In the last three days, this is the 7th time in Jammu and Kashmir that earthquake tremors have been felt.

At the same time, tremors of earthquake were felt at around 2:21 am today, 171 km from Kolhapur in Maharashtra, which measured 3.9 on the Richter scale. According to the National Center for Seismology, the depth of the earthquake was 10 km below the ground. On Thursday, the NCS had told that an earthquake of 3.4 magnitude struck Kolhapur at 12:05 am, with a depth of 5 km below the ground.

Apart from this, tremors of 4.3 magnitude earthquake were felt at around 2:55 am today, 164 km from Kabul, Afghanistan, whose depth was 80 km below the ground. According to the National Center for Seismology, tremors of 4.1 magnitude earthquake were felt in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir at 11:04 pm on Thursday. The epicenter of the earthquake was at 33.20 degree north latitude and 75.56 degree east longitude at a depth of 5 km from the ground.

The first tremor was felt at 2:20 am on Tuesday in the east of Katra, Jammu and Kashmir, with a depth of 10 km below the ground, its magnitude was 3.9 on the Richter scale. The second earthquake of magnitude 2.6 struck at 3.21 pm, 9.5 km northeast of Doda in Jammu region. The third earthquake of magnitude 2.8 struck 29 km east of Udhampur in Jammu region at 3.44 am on Tuesday. The fourth earthquake of magnitude 2.9 struck 26 km southeast of Udhampur at 8.03 am on Wednesday. Two tremors of earthquake were felt in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday night and Thursday morning also. After this, the 7th tremor was felt in the early hours of Friday.
