New Delhi: There is a possibility of getting relief in the rules of ban on entry of old vehicles (end of life vehicles) in the capital Delhi. Delhi (Delhi CM ) g overnment has written a letter to CAQM (Commission for Air Quality Management) in this regard and has said that the instructions of not giving fuel to such vehicles should be stopped.
What did Environment Minister Sirsa say?
Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said in a press conference that he has written a letter to the Air Quality Management Commission asking to stop the instructions of not giving fuel to end-of-life vehicles in Delhi. He said- “We have informed them that the Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras installed are not a robust system. There are still many challenges in them. Technical glitches, sensor not working and speaker malfunctioning, all these are challenges. It has not been integrated with NCR data yet. It is not able to identify HSRP plates. We also told that such a law has not been implemented in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad and the rest of NCR yet.
What did the CM office say?
According to the officials of the Delhi CM office, the Delhi government has taken this initiative in view of the problems of the common people. The decision of not giving fuel to end of life vehicles can now provide relief. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has written a letter to CAQM requesting to withdraw the decision of not giving fuel.
Delhi Traffic Police waiting for order
At the same time, according to the Delhi Traffic Police, no order has come to hold the traffic police in the matter of ban on old vehicles. This order is from CAQM, after which the traffic police is taking such action. It is keeping an eye on the vehicles. If any order comes, then the traffic police will give some updates only after that. However, the traffic police says that now such vehicles are not coming to Delhi because most of the people have come to know about this order.
