Indian team in the final of the Under-19 World Cup for the fourth time in a row

Antigua. The Indian team has made it to the final of the Under-19 World Cup for the fourth time in a row and for the 8th time overall. They beat Australia by 96 runs in the semi-finals on Wednesday. The Indian team scored 290 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs, thanks to captain Yash Dhul’s century and a 204-run partnership with Sheikh Rashid. Chasing the target of 291 runs, the Australian team was all out for 194 runs in 41.5 overs. Now in the final, India will face England on Saturday, February 5 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.

In this match played at the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua, captain Yash Dhul made a strong performance for the Indian team and scored a century of 110 runs. He hit 10 fours and 1 six in 110 balls. Sheikh Rashid missed his century by just 6 runs. Rashid hit 8 fours and 1 six in 108 balls. The Indian team was seen in trouble at one time. His 2 wickets fell on the team score of 37 runs, but Yash Dhul and Sheikh Rashid added 204 runs for the third wicket and put the team in a strong position.
Chasing the target, Lechlan Shaw scored the highest 51 runs for the Australian team. He hit 4 fours in his innings of 66 balls, which returned to the pavilion as the 9th wicket for the team’s score of 178. Apart from him, Corey Miller contributed 38 and opener Campbell contributed 30 runs. Left arm spinner Vicky Ostwal took 3 wickets for 42 runs for India. Apart from them, Nishant Sindhu and Ravi Kumar also took 2-2 wickets. Kaushal Tambe and Angkrish Raghuvanshi got 1-1 wickets.

Australia’s first wicket fell for just 3 runs, when T Willey (1) was dismissed lbw by Ravi Kumar in the second over of the innings. After this, Campbell and Corey Miller added 68 runs for the second wicket. Raghuvanshi broke this partnership and sent Corey out lbw and sent to the pavilion. Dinesh Bana and Nishant Sindhu scored 27 runs in the last over of the innings. In the first two balls of this over of Whitney, Sindhu hit a four and a six. Then on the last 3 balls, Dinesh Bana showed the fire and hit 2 sixes and 1 four. Bana returned unbeaten after scoring 20 runs in 4 balls i.e. his strike rate was 500. Nishant Sindhu scored 12 runs in 10 balls and returned unbeaten. Both also shared an unbeaten partnership of 31 runs for the sixth wicket. Jack Nisbet and Tom Whitney took 2-2 wickets for Australia.
