Muzaffarnagar: In the UP assembly elections, BJP has made a big promise to bring farmers to its fold. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made this promise.
Amit Shah had gone to Muzaffar Nagar on Saturday to campaign for the party. During the campaign, he assured the farmers that in case of delay in payment of sugarcane, farmers would be given money along with interest. He said that the money would be recovered from the mill owners.
Amit Shah said that his promise will be part of BJP’s election manifesto. Addressing people in Muzaffarnagar, he said, “We are going to include in the manifesto of the BJP that in case of delay in payment, interest will be charged from sugar mills and farmers will be paid with interest.”
Amit Shah said that at some places farmers had told him about the delay in sugarcane payment. After which he has prepared a proposal to tighten it after talking at the top level of the party. Which will now be part of the party’s manifesto.
He said that 21 mills in Uttar Pradesh were closed by Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party. Not a single sugar mill has been closed in the BJP government. Uttar Pradesh tops in the production of sugarcane and the western region of the state is known for the cultivation of sugarcane crop.
