Karoli’s Ancestral Home Dispute Deepens as Granddaughters Move Against Hanuman Trust

Firozabad, August 25, 2026: A property dispute involving the ancestral home of revered spiritual figure Baba Neem Karoli has intensified in Akbarpur village of Tundla. Six of Baba Neem Karoli’s granddaughters have approached the district administration, alleging that the Hanuman Trust has taken control of a house linked to the saint’s family.

The dispute has gained attention at a time when tourism and development activities are underway around Baba Neem Karoli’s birthplace in the region.

Family Alleges Unauthorised Control of Ancestral Property

According to the complaint submitted to the District Magistrate, the dispute concerns house number 154. The family members claim that Baba Neem Karoli had lived in the property, where rooms and places of worship associated with him and his wife are also located.

The complainants have alleged that the Hanuman Trust has increased its control over the property and have sought administrative intervention. They have requested that the house remain outside the control of the trust and that the matter be examined by the authorities.

Six Granddaughters Submit Complaint

The complaint was reportedly submitted by six family members — Sunita Sharma, Archana Sharma, Vandana Sharma, Bhavana Rawat, Ritu Tiwari and Richa Rawat.

The family has stated that relatives traditionally stayed at the ancestral house whenever they visited the village. However, they claim that increasing involvement of the trust has created difficulties for family members seeking access to the property.

The District Magistrate has indicated that the matter will be examined.

Earlier Dispute Had Affected Development Work

The disagreement between the family and the trust is not new. Previous tensions surrounding the property and management of the site had reportedly created challenges for development-related activities in the area.

With tourism infrastructure expanding around the birthplace of Baba Neem Karoli, the latest complaint has once again brought the ownership and control of the ancestral property into focus.

Baba Neem Karoli and His Spiritual Legacy

Baba Neem Karoli remains one of India’s most widely revered spiritual personalities, with followers in India and abroad. His association with the Kainchi Dham Ashram in Uttarakhand’s Nainital district has made the shrine a major spiritual destination.

Thousands of devotees visit Kainchi Dham, especially during important religious occasions. The current dispute, however, concerns the ancestral property in Akbarpur village of Tundla and is expected to be addressed through an administrative inquiry.
