In fact, officials in Wayanad, Kerala, imposed curfew in some areas of Mananthavady Municipality on Sunday after a tiger fatally attacked a 47-year-old woman. The tiger has been declared a man-eater since the incident of attack on the woman. Now plans are being made to kill the tiger. Forest Minister AK Shashindran held a high-level meeting at the Collector’s office. After this, the tiger was declared a man-eater. According to an official release, curfew will be imposed in some areas for 48 hours from 6 am on January 27.
Woman dies due to tiger attack
Let us tell you that in the ‘Priyadarshini Estate’ of Manathwadi area, when a Scheduled Caste woman Radha was plucking coffee on Friday morning, a tiger attacked her. The woman died due to tiger attack. At the same time, after performing the last rites of the woman, the local people gathered outside the base camp of the forest officials and started demanding to kill the tiger. However, forest officials clarified that Chief Wildlife Warden Pramod G Krishnan had ordered on Friday that maximum efforts should be made to cage or stun the tiger as per the guidelines and standard operating procedure (SOP) of the National Tiger Conservation Authority, if this is not possible, then it should be shot.
