SP changed candidates so many times, (SP) 

New Delhi: Misrikh Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh is spread over three districts – Kanpur, Hardoi and Sitapur. This seat is reserved for Scheduled Caste. Voting will be held in Misrikh in the fourth phase on May 13. This seat is in the possession of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 2014. In this Lok Sabha election, (SP)  the contest for this seat has become quite interesting. Actually, Jija and Salhaj are face to face on this seat.

Who is contesting elections in Misrikh
BJP has expressed confidence in its current MP Dr Ashok Kumar Rawat in this election. Whereas in the Indian alliance, this seat has come to the account of Samajwadi Party. SP has fielded Sangeeta Rajvanshi by giving ticket. Sangeeta is close to Dr Rawat in the relationship. Bahujan Samaj Party has given ticket to Dr BR Ahirwar. Dr. Rawat has won this seat in 2004 and 2009 on Bahujan Samaj Party ticket.
In this election, SP changed candidates three times on many seats. But Misrikh is a seat where SP changed its candidates four times. Here SP had earlier announced the candidature of former minister Rampal Rajvanshi. He appears to be the father-in-law of Dr. Ashok Rawat. Rampal Rajvanshi had decided to contest against his son-in-law. Didn’t show interest.

After this, SP announced the candidature of Rampal’s son Manoj Kumar Rajvanshi. While he was making a strategy to fight against his brother-in-law, SP once again changed the ticket and announced former MP Ramshankar Bhargava as its candidate. The very next day, SP changed its candidate from here. SP announced to make Sangeeta Rajvanshi, daughter-in-law of Rampal Rajvanshi, its candidate in place of Bhargava.

Sangeeta Rajvanshi is the wife of the brother-in-law of BJP candidate Dr. Ashok Rawat. She is standing in the field challenging her brother-in-law.

How many assembly constituencies are there in Misrikh Lok Sabha seat?

Misrikh Lok Sabha seat includes Misrikh assembly constituency of Sitapur, Bilhaur assembly constituency of Kanpur and Balamau, Sandila and Mallawan assembly constituencies of Hardoi district. BJP had captured all these assembly seats in the 2022 elections.

What is the history of the battle of Misrikh?

The 2019 Lok Sabha elections were fought jointly by Samajwadi Party and BSP. In this alliance, this seat came to the account of BSP. In that election, BSP candidate Dr. Neelu Satyarthi had secured 4 lakh 33 thousand 757 votes. This was 42.22 percent of the total votes cast. Dr. Ashok Kumar Rawat, who won this seat, got 5 lakh 34 thousand 429 votes. Out of the total votes cast, he got 52.02 percent votes. Manjari Rahi of Congress had secured 26 thousand 505 votes.

In the 2014 elections, Dr. Ashok Kumar Rawat had contested on BSP ticket. But he had to face defeat at the hands of BJP’s Anjubala. Anju Bala got 4 lakh 12 thousand 468 votes. This was 41.33 percent of the total votes polled. Whereas Ashok Kumar Rawat got 3 lakh 25 thousand 212 votes. This was 32.58 percent of the total votes cast. SP candidate Jaiprakash had got one lakh 94 thousand 759 votes. This was 19.51 percent of the total votes cast.

The number of Scheduled Caste voters in Misrikh is about 33 percent. Among these, the number of voters of Pasi caste is more. Keeping this in mind, BJP and SP have fielded candidates from this caste.
