This is the importance of Pushkar fair
It is believed that Lord Brahma, the creator of the universe, performed Yagya in Pushkar for 5 days from Ekadashi to Purnima of Kartik month. During this period, 33 crore gods and goddesses were also present on earth. For this reason, 5 days from Ekadashi of Kartik month to Purnima have special significance in Pushkar. It is said that in this month all the gods reside in Pushkar. Due to these beliefs, Pushkar fair is organized. In olden times, due to lack of resources, devotees used to bring animals along with them. It gradually came to be known as a cattle fair.
