New Delhi. The ICC ODI World Cup being played in India has been started in a tremendous manner by last time’s runner-up team New Zealand. In a brilliant first match, England were restricted to 282 runs and then with the help of two batsmen, the bowlers were bowled out. New Zealand’s young sensation Rachin Ravindra of Indian origin batted brilliantly and hit a quick fifty. He gave England a tough time on his World Cup debut. 23 year old Rachin created history by scoring a century ( century i) on debut and made a place in the list of greats.

The ICC ODI World Cup started in India on 5 October. In the first match, defending champion England faced runner-up team New Zealand. Here Kiwi team captain Tom Latham won the toss and decided to bowl. The New Zealand bowlers did not give the English batsmen a chance to survive. The team was able to reach the score of 282 runs at the loss of 9 wickets.

India-born Rachin Ravindra, who came to play his first World Cup, batted brilliantly while chasing the target. Rachin has become the batsman to score the fastest century in the World Cup for New Zealand. By scoring a century on 82 balls against England, he broke the record of his own teammate Devon Conway, which was made 15 minutes earlier during the same innings. Martin Guptill’s record was broken by Conway and Rachin took it.
