CM Chauhan sought help from PM Modi

Bhopal. In the capital of Madhya Pradesh, the fire which broke out at around 3 pm on Monday in the Government Satpura Bhavan in front of the Secretariat has reached the sixth floor. By Monday night, when the fire engines called from Bhopal and nearby areas could not control the fire, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ( Chauhan) informed PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh about the incident and sought help. It is being told that with the help of Air Force helicopters, the fire can be controlled in the night itself. It is a matter of pride that the building was evacuated in time and there was no casualty in this fire.

It is suspected that the fire broke out due to a short circuit and spread after a blast in the AC compressor. The Chief Minister has formed a 4-member committee to investigate the incident. According to information, blasts took place in about 30-35 AC compressors in Satpura Bhawan and the fire continued to spread. There are offices, directorates and offices of many departments of the government in this building. The files, old documents, records etc kept in these have been burnt to ashes. The Chief Minister’s Office said that fire tenders and fire brigade personnel from the Army, Indian Oil Corporation, BPCL, Airports Authority of India, BHEL, Mandideep and Raisen were called.

Bhopal airport will remain open overnight
AN 32 aircraft and MI 15 helicopter will reach Bhopal on Monday night on the instructions of the Defense Minister. AN 52 and MI 15 will try to extinguish the fire by pouring water from the top of the Satpura building with buckets; Bhopal airport will remain open throughout the night.

Firefighters could not go inside due to heavy smoke
District Collector Ashish Singh said that around 22 fire engines and 30 to 40 tankers are involved in the operation to extinguish the fire. He said the fire spread because many files were stored in the building and the firemen could not enter due to heavy smoke. Singh said that the scope of the fire is very large but there is no information about any casualty. Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayanchari Mishra said, “As per prima facie information and people present on the spot, the fire broke out on the third floor of the building due to short circuit in the air conditioner and spread to other floors due to wind.”

Furniture and documents of tribal welfare and health department turned to ashes
Bhopal Municipal Corporation’s fire officer Ramesh Neel said that the fire spread rapidly. He said, “Prima facie furniture and documents have been destroyed in the fire.” The CMO said that the committee includes Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Principal Secretary (Urban Administration), Principal Secretary (Public Works Department) and Additional Director General (Fire). Meanwhile, Arera Hills Station House Officer RK Singh said the fire engulfed furniture and documents of the Tribal Welfare and Health Department located inside the building.
