Meghalaya. Hundreds of angry people gheraoed the office of Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday. Actually Chief Minister Conrad Sangma was holding an important meeting with various protesting civic bodies including ACHIK, GHSMC. The discussion between them went on for more than three hours in the CM’s office. Meanwhile, a huge crowd gathered outside the campus and started raising slogans. The furious mob also pelted stones during this period and also broke the windows of the CM office.
At the same time, in retaliation, the police fired tear gas shells to disperse the crowd gathered there. At least five security personnel have been injured in this clash so far. While the Chief Minister’s Office said in a comment, the situation has been brought under control, but the situation remains ‘very tense’.

Civic bodies distance themselves from protesters
