Director General (DG) of Maharashtra Railway Dr. Pradnya Sarode has held an important meeting with senior officers of GRP and has instructed them to go to the bottom of the investigation of the train incident. In this meeting, including the CP of GRP, DCP and the investigating officer of the train incident, all the officers involved in the case were involved.
Five days have passed since the train accident, but till now GRP has not been able to reach any conclusion regarding the reason behind it. There are many questions before GRP. According to sources, the GRP has not ruled out the angle of target killing from its investigation, but in the investigation of this angle, the question is arising that if the accused Chetan Singh did the target killing, then his Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) ) Why did Tika kill Ram Meena? This question is troubling GRP the most.
The second question before the GRP is that Chetan Singh is not cooperating at all in the investigation. He is misleading in answering questions. This is the reason why GRP is preparing to get his narco test done. According to sources, if the accused does not cooperate in the coming days, then his narco test can be done.
The third question before the GRP is that what was the dispute between Chetan Singh and ASI Meena about, which escalated so much that he killed 4 people including the ASI. According to GRP sources, Chetan Singh’s family has given all the documents of his medical treatment to the RPF office and RPF DG, but the GRP will take it through Panchnama and verify the entire document and investigate it.
Along with the GRP, the ATS is also conducting a rapid investigation in the train incident. A railway official had told that constable Chetan Singh (34) shot dead RPF assistant sub-inspector Tika Ram Meena and another passenger in B5 bogie with his automatic weapon. He then shot a passenger in B6 bogie and then shot dead another passenger in the pantry car located between B5 and B6 bogies.
According to an official, after this incident, the chain was pulled in the train at around 5.59 am. As soon as the train stopped near Mira Road station, Chetan Singh jumped on the railway tracks with his weapon and started running. After a chase, the GRP and RPF personnel caught him and seized his weapon. The deceased passengers have been identified as Abdul Kadarbhai Mohammad Hussain Bhanpurwala (48) of Nalasopara in Palghar, Asghar Abbas Ali (48) and Sadar Mohammad Hussain of Madhubani in Bihar.
