Srinagar: Indian security forces have successfully executed Operation Mahadev and killed three terrorists. The terrorists killed ( terrorists killed) by the security forces during the operation on the outskirts of Srinagar include Suleman alias Asif, who is allegedly the mastermind of the Pahalgam terror attack. Two of Suleman’s associates have also been killed in this operation. These two terrorists have been identified as Jibran and Hamza Afghani. Jibran was allegedly involved in the Sonamarg tunnel attack last year.
Indian security forces were getting information about the terrorists since July 18. Two to three terrorists were spotted on top of the mountains and their communication sets were intercepted. The terrorists were constantly in touch with their over ground workers and Pakistani terrorists.
How was the army’s operation completed?
After gathering information about the terrorists, two different National Rifle Teams of the Indian Army and Special Forces soldiers started the siege on the top of the mountains. In the encounter with the terrorists, there should be no harm to the civilians and the soldiers should also face minimum danger. This was taken care of and a Chakravyuh was created. This operation was named Mahadev because it is very close to Srinagar and the operation took place on Monday. There are also Shalimar Bagh Nishad and Harman tourist spots near this entire area. Therefore, a lot of precaution was taken in this operation.
All three terrorists killed together
After laying siege, the army killed all the three terrorists by firing on them from all sides simultaneously. The forest was dense and the terrorists should not come out anywhere and none of their helpers should fire. The security forces also took care of this. For this reason, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF were deployed under the Chakravyuh. Two different units of CRPF and Valley Quick Action Team were involved in this entire operation along with the Indian Army.
