Society for Sustainable Development raised green consciousness in the Central Command of the Indian Army On World Environment Day, military officers along with their families planted trees in the Central Command

World Environment Day on the occasion of Indian Army’s Central Command And Society for Sustainable Development Special lecture sessions were organized under the joint aegis of the Central Command. Addressing the soldiers of the Central Command and their families, the keynote speaker, environmentalist and social change maker And Radheshyam Dixit, Director, Society for Sustainable Development said, “ In today’s modern era, we are facing many environmental challenges. Our needs and their solutions sometimes seem like two opposite poles. On one hand, industrialization is necessary for the development of the nation , on the other hand , conservation of water, forest and land is equally important. The army has been playing a positive role on every front , due to which the cantonment areas are still more green and environment friendly , which becomes a source of inspiration for the civil society. Soldiers are also participating in the efforts of environmental conservation in their villages, cities and workplaces.

The keynote speaker in his speech Radheshyam Dixit He said that the United Nations has chosen the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ for the year 2025 because plastic, which was once a scientific boon , has now become the biggest crisis for the earth. Due to excessive use of plastic, microplastics are polluting the natural ecosystem through water, air and food chain and endangering biodiversity. He appealed to everyone to make a living by using plastic. He called for adopting the 3R principle – Reduce , Reuse , Recycle – to ensure sustainable development even at the individual level.

Dr. Abha R. Dixit, President, Society for Sustainable Development asked the citizens He appealed to cooperate in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) of the United Nations . He inspired people to adopt environmentally responsible choices in their homes and society and play their role.

Two sessions were organized for Agniveers under the program. The first session was held at 8:00 am in Laishram Jyotin Singh Auditorium , while the second session was held at 11:00 am in Captain Puneet Dutt Auditorium. It was concluded in this program All ranks of Central Command and families of soldiers participated enthusiastically While doing this, they showed their commitment towards environmental protection. At the end of the program, everyone donated money to different species Planting of plants By doing this we fulfilled our faith and responsibility towards nature
