IPL: In the 30th match of IPL 2025, Chennai  (Chennai )  Super Kings (CSK) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). With this, Chennai broke the streak of continuous defeat in the 18th season of IPL. In this match played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, Chennai Super Kings defeated the host Lucknow Super Kings by 5 wickets. In this way, Chennai has got its first win after 5 consecutive defeats. This is only the second win for CSK this season. The team won its first match against Mumbai Indians on 23 March and now after a long gap, the team has tasted its second victory on 14 April.

Lucknow scored 166 runs

Earlier, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) scored 166 runs for the loss of 7 wickets on the basis of captain Rishabh Pant’s half-century after being invited to bat first. Pant played an innings of 63 runs in 49 balls. Pant caught the rhythm after a little struggle in the beginning and then along with Abdul Samad (20 runs), shared a 53-run partnership for the fifth wicket. Thanks to this partnership, Lucknow scored a respectable score of 166 runs at home. Ravindra Jadeja and Mathisha Pathirana took 2-2 wickets for Chennai. Whereas, Khalil Ahmed and Anshul Kamboj got 1-1 success. Noor Ahmed and Jamie Overton could not get a single wicket.

Dhoni along with Dubey got the victory

Chasing Lucknow’s score, Chennai had a great start. The team crossed the score of 50 runs in 5 overs but lost the wicket of Sheikh Rashid. Rashid scored 27 runs. Rachin Ravindra returned to the pavilion after scoring 37 runs on the last ball of the 8th over. After this, Chennai’s middle order faltered. Rahul Tripathi (9) and Ravindra Jadeja (7) returned to the pavilion cheaply. Vijay Shankar also became the victim of Digvesh Rathi after scoring just 9 runs. After this, Dhoni came to the crease and took charge with Shivam Dubey and made a half-century partnership in a rapid style and finally gave victory to his team.
