Jaipur: A female employee of an aviation company was arrested on Thursday for slapping a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) (CISF) officer posted for security check at Jaipur airport in Rajasthan, while the company called it a “serious case of sexual harassment”. In the CCTV video clip, the CISF officer is seen talking to the woman.
Case registered against woman
In the video, the woman can be seen taking two steps forward and suddenly slapping the CISF personnel. After this, a female constable took her aside. Police have registered a case of assault against Anuradha Rani on the basis of the complaint of the CISF officer.
SpiceJet issued this statement
At the same time, the aviation company has also contacted the local police and said that it is taking ‘immediate legal action’. In a statement, a SpiceJet spokesperson said that inappropriate language was used with the employee and the CISF personnel also asked the woman to meet him at his home after duty. He said that the airline’s food supervisor Anuradha Rani was entering the airport from the ‘vehicle gate’ along with other employees at around 4 am when CISF Assistant Sub Inspector Giriraj Prasad stopped her for not having valid permission to use that gate.
This statement came from CISF
CISF officials said that after this the woman was asked to undergo checking at the nearby entrance made for the company’s crew members, but no female CISF personnel was present there at that time. Jaipur Airport SHO Ram Lal said that the ASI called a female colleague for security check, but the argument escalated and the SpiceJet employee slapped her. He said a case has been registered against the food supervisor under sections 121 (1) (voluntarily obstructing public servant in discharge of his duties and causing hurt) and 132 (assaulting public servant) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS).
Accused of using indecent language for woman
The SHO said that based on the complaint of the ASI, Anuradha Rani has been arrested and the matter is being investigated. A SpiceJet spokesperson said in a statement that the woman employee had a valid pass issued by the country’s civil aviation security regulator Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) for entry into the airport. The statement said that the CISF personnel used inappropriate and unacceptable language with her and also asked her to come and meet him at his home after duty.
