Ahmedabad. Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. This is the first visit of Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to India. He reached here at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport where he was received by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. After this he went straight to Mahatma Gandhi’s ashram. Albanese is on a four-day visit to India.
Sabarmati Ashram is also a place associated with India’s freedom struggle. When Albanese went to the ashram, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also with him. In the Ashram, the Australian Prime Minister saw the places of worship, the spinning wheel and the objects and places associated with Mahatma Gandhi and understood their importance. A business delegation is also accompanying the Australian Prime Minister on this visit to India, which can increase its activities with India. Albanese has also called it a wonderful opportunity for Australian businessmen to do business with India.
As per the schedule shared by the officials, Albanese will participate in a Holi program at the Raj Bhavan in the evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will come here at around eight o’clock in the night. Both the Prime Ministers will also watch the first day’s play of the fourth cricket Test match between India and Australia starting at the Narendra Modi Stadium from Thursday.

Before Anthony Albanese reached India, PM Narendra Modi said that India is eagerly waiting for the Prime Minister of Australia. They look forward to discussions to further the friendship between India and Australia. PM Albanese said that on the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he is visiting Ahmedabad, Mumbai and New Delhi. PM Albanese will go to Mumbai on March 9 and then reach Delhi on the same day. On March 10, he will be given a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
