Officials said that two people who returned from abroad in Bhavnagar and Rajkot have been found infected with Kovid and their samples have been sent to Gandhinagar for genome sequencing.
All passengers will be screened at Chennai airport
In Chennai, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin directed officials to test all passengers arriving at the international airport here for COVID-19 and if found infected, treat them as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The Chief Minister appealed to the people not to panic due to the outbreak of ‘Omicron’ in China. He also said that the Tamil Nadu government is fully prepared for the safety of the people.
